Colors are an important part of any design. They help us define the personality of our work and convey emotions and messages to reach our audience. At Kriskadecor, we carry out the coloring process of the chain in an artisanal way to guarantee the best finish in your projects.
Our coloring process
The coloring process of the chain is made up of several stages and involves different variables that make it possible to obtain a wide range of colors with glossy and satin finishes.
Before anodizing, the “heart of the process”, the chain has to go through a series of stages in order to obtain a clean surface and the desired finish. This will allow us to achieve the most homogeneous anodic coating possible and a uniform coloration.
Anodizing is an electrolytic process through which a porous anodic layer is created that has a high absorption capacity and allows the coloring of the chain by means of special dyes. The coloring capacity depends on the conditions under which the anodizing was carried out, the thickness of the layer, as well as the conditions under which each of the colors is to be applied.
The thickness varies depending on the application. In our case, being a decorative anodizing, the thickness is 8.5-12 microns, depending on the color and finish we want to give.
After anodizing and coloring, we proceed to sealing, which closes the pores of the anodic layer in order to retain the coloring of the chain and add corrosion protection.
The different stages of our anodizing and coloring process not only allow us to obtain a new color without losing the metallic character of the chain, but also provide the following properties: mechanical protection against corrosion, mechanical protection against weathering and generation of a protection that increases electrical insulation.
In this way, we achieve a wide range of colors with an exceptional finish, which materialize the emotions of the most ambitious and colorful projects through the combination of our metallic links.
