Kriskadecor's project at Casa Decor 2021 invites you to a journey from purgatory to ecstasy, passing through the final judgment.
El Cielo de Canalejas, designed by Alterespacio for LDK Garden, was presented at Casa Decor 2021 as an immersive experience that transcends the earthly, inviting visitors on a journey from purgatory to ecstasy, passing through the final judgment. This space, inspired by the Madrid sky and surrounded by neo-Mudejar brick, limestone and wrought iron, offers a sensory journey that combines nature, art and cutting-edge technology. Among the various works that adorn this space, three murals by Kriskadecor stand out, adding a touch of sophistication and mysticism to the ambience.
The first mural, located at the entrance, opens a breach with the earthly world, inviting visitors to cross the threshold into the unknown. Against the backdrop of the Judgment, a reproduction of Daniel Zuloaga’s image of the demon is presented, whose ancestral symbolism blends with the modernity of the design. This mural acts as a visual metaphor that transports viewers to a space between life and transcendence, as they face the judgment of their own journey.
To culminate the experience, El Cielo de Canalejas leads to Nirvana, represented by a cascade of water made with aluminum chains from Kriskadecor. This last mural symbolizes the arrival to ecstasy, a space of peace and serenity, where water flows gently and the aluminum chains shine as a metaphor for purity and rebirth. The waterfall is not only a decorative element, but integrates the space in a functional way, providing a visual contrast with the hardness of the walls and creating an atmosphere of absolute calm.
Inspiration, materials and sustainability
The inspiration for this space comes from the beauty of the Madrid sky, combined with the architectural environment that surrounds it, along with fauns, griffins and fruits that evoke the magic of the classic. El Cielo de Canalejas develops a deeply symbolic concept, where every corner has a meaning beyond mere adornment, becoming a tribute to creativity and art.
