The Interactivity of the Guerrilla Show Athens

The Guerrilla Show Athens was a unique 40-minute performance that invited the public to interact with the installations. Attendees were able to move freely, creating their own experience as they explored the space. This interactivity was not only limited to the audience, but the models were also part of this dynamic game. The installations were designed to merge the movement of the people with the surrounding environment.

The Role of the Curtains and the Lighting Set

Two sets of shiny brown curtains, 4.60 meters long and 1.70 meters high, were used. Each curtain consisted of 78 gold anodized aluminum chains. These curtains were arranged at an angle towards the end of the models’ path, creating a visually inviting effect on the audience. In addition, the metallic waves generated by the chains as the models and the public passed through them enhanced the atmosphere. This constant play of light and shadow offered a different sensory experience at every moment.

Re-imagining the Contemporary Fashion Show

Nervousystems proposes a new way of experiencing the fashion show, moving away from the current commerciality. The goal is to reimagine the present, combining elements of spectacle, body movement and space. In this approach, both the models and the audience are actors within the performance, contributing to the creation of a collective experience. Fashion, according to Nervousystems, has an authentic connection to the body and space. For this reason, architectural scenography integrates perfectly with performative fashion proposals. This approach allows the guerrilla concept of the show to remain in constant surprise, maintaining uncertainty for both the audience and the organizers.

The tour begins with a spectacular thirteen-ton floating staircase enhanced by a cascade of chains that starts on the roof and descends to the basement of the modernist building. The sculptural form accompanies Gaudí’s architecture, as well as bringing movement and volume to the space thanks to the different overlapping layers that, depending on the time of day, absorb the different shades of light that filter through the skylight.
