A project with aluminum chains that turns the restaurant into an immense fish tank
Located in the vibrant old town of Lugano, Kohakinho restaurant has set out to be much more than a place to enjoy sushi; its design is, in itself, its calling card. Inspired by its name and its gastronomic proposal, which fuses Japanese and Brazilian cuisine, the restaurant chose as its central element a koi carp, a symbol of Japanese culture that reflects elegance and strength.
The design, with a large sculptural lamp in the shape of a fish floating above the tables, transforms the double-height space into a huge fish tank, where customers become “fish” inside the restaurant. This aquarium effect is enhanced by the windows of the restaurant, which allow a direct view of the entire interior, giving the sensation of being immersed in water.

The effect of Kriskadecor chains: color, dynamism and elegance
The choice of Kriskadecor chains to clad the walls and ceiling of the restaurant reinforces the elegant and peculiar character of Kohakinho. The color gradient, which begins on the ceiling with 49 straight pieces in shades of orange, brown and gold, extends along the wall cladding, which includes 7 other colors that harmonize with the other decorative elements of the space. This design not only adds a visually striking touch, but also contributes to the creation of an enveloping and dynamic atmosphere.
The versatility and lightness of Kriskadecor chains, together with their capacity for customization in terms of color, shape and dimensions, allowed the material to be perfectly integrated into the project.
