Kriskadecor Designs "Barlovento", an immersive experience at Marina Port Vell during the 37th America's Cup

Kriskadecor, in collaboration with Marina Port Vell Barcelona, has created Barlovento, an immersive experience inspired by the sea and crafted from aluminium chains. This installation offers an elegant and warm welcome to residents and visitors during the celebration of this nautical event. The initiative stands out for its creativity and kinetic movement, as well as its elegance and commitment to innovation, design, and art.

The project, designed by Kriskadecor's creative team, features an installation where innovation and design are central. It has been developed using 196,980 chain links to form undulating curtains with a subtle gradient of colours representing the white wakes left by boats as they sail. Additionally, triangular silver shapes symbolising the sails of ships among the waves during regattas have been incorporated. As a nod to the past, an enthusiastic "HOLA" has been woven into the curtains, recalling the greeting with which Barcelona welcomed the world at the 1992 Olympic Games.

Aluminium elements designed to withstand the environment provide an iconic entrance and a dynamic view thanks to their movement and the interplay of colours that change with the daylight, creating a visual spectacle that will impress both residents and visitors alike.

This event promises to be a celebration of sport, technology, innovation, and culture, just as Barcelona was more than 30 years ago during the Olympic Games. Thus, the Catalan capital, renowned for its avant-garde architecture and vibrant design culture, adds a new attraction to its offerings for three months: the Barlovento installation at the entrance to Marina Port Vell.
