Khronos, created by Rafa Ortega, was born from the encounter between design and acoustics to give shape to environments that are not only lived in, but also felt. The collection incorporates acoustic panels on the aluminum chains, creating more comfortable, balanced spaces with their own visual identity.
Inspired by the relationship between time and space, Khronos is articulated in two complementary dimensions: SÒLID and LÍQUID. Two ways of interpreting space that dialogue between permanence and movement.
But behind these ideas there is also a very concrete look at the material that gives rise to the entire project: the aluminum chain of Kriskadecor. For the designer, this element is not just a construction material, but a surface capable of transforming the perception of space.
“The idea arises because, for me, the Kriskadecor chain has always been like a veil that allows you to see in several dimensions.”
Its lightness and transparency generate a kind of architectural veil that allows you to work with depth, superposition and rhythm. From this idea Khronos is born, a collection that understands space as a succession of layers where design can build new atmospheres.

Two parallel realities
Khronos is developed from two complementary universes that explore different ways of relating to space. On the one hand, SÒLID, which looks at architecture and the memory of forms. On the other, LÍQUID, which is inspired by the movement and nature of water.
Both dimensions are materialized in different designs that reinterpret these ideas in acoustic compositions integrated in the aluminum chains.
SÒLID, forms that remain
As we enter SÒLID, the dimension that represents that which remains appears. His designs reinterpret historical references of architecture and design, exploring geometries that evoke stability, balance and permanence. Forms that seem to have been shaped by the passage of time and that dialogue with the space from the structure and proportion.
“In SÒLID we talk about a historical interpretation of architecture.”
Within this dimension we find Metropolis, Boho and Rosella. Metropolis gathers echoes of early twentieth-century architecture and Art Deco geometry, with compositions that evoke order and architectural rhythm. In Boho, the reference shifts to the sixties and seventies, subtly reinterpreting freer and more organic graphic languages. For its part, Rosella introduces layers and volumes that create new spatial readings.

LIQUID, movement in space
In contrast to the stability of SÒLID, LÍQUID explores fluidity. His compositions are inspired by natural dynamics such as the movement of water or ocean currents, generating surfaces that seem to constantly transform according to light, perspective or the movement of the observer.
“LÍQUID represents mobility, fluidity and dynamism. Something that is in permanent movement.”
The designs in this dimension -Meduses, Peixos and Mantarraya- evoke the marine universe and the sensation of being immersed in a changing environment. The shapes unfold lightly on the Kriskadecor chains, creating dynamic compositions that bring rhythm and depth to the space.
Acoustic design and sustainability
Beyond its aesthetic dimension, Khronos integrates an essential technical function: improving the acoustic comfort of spaces. The recycled acoustic panels are incorporated directly into the chain by means of a simple assembly system that makes it possible to create different configurations and compositions.

This flexibility opens up new possibilities for architects and designers, who can adapt the pieces to different projects and spatial needs.
