Kriskadecor's project in a design that unites history and modernity
In the heart of Girona’s Barri Vell, we find one of the stores of the renowned Munich franchise, a space that stands out for its unique monumental charge. This store houses part of the Roman wall of the city, which adds a rich layer of history and culture to the environment, creating a unique atmosphere for visitors.
The interior design, carried out by Studio Animal, seeks to convey a deep respect for local culture and traditions, highlighting the city’s heritage. To achieve this, a golden coating was incorporated to unite two seemingly distant worlds: the modernity of Munich sneakers and the antiquity of exposed stone. This harmonious combination succeeds in connecting the past with the present in an elegant and contemporary way.
The design includes an innovative solution with Kriskadecor links in satin gold finish and half-drop density, an option that generates a visually striking zigzag effect. This arrangement of the links provides greater opacity, enhancing the dynamism of the space and creating a strong visual impact. In addition, the volume and structure of the space are accentuated by a second angular layer that serves as a link between the two zones that divide the retail space, providing a sense of fluidity and continuity.
This is the third project in which Javier Jiménez Iniesta, the soul of Studio Animal, uses Kriskadecor’s anodized aluminum links in Munich stores. Although the material is the same each time, the results are still surprising, demonstrating the versatility of this element and its ability to adapt and transform the space in a unique way in each project.
