Exhibition "Come What May"

The exhibition “Come What May”, presented at the Aeroplastics Gallery in Brussels, brings together more than thirty artists who offer their personal perspectives on the great challenges facing humanity today. In a world plunged into uncertainty, the exhibition becomes an opportunity to reflect on issues as diverse as the ecological, the social, the human and the economic. Far from being a manifesto or a plea, the exhibition is characterized by its boldness and experimentation, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a visual game full of hidden meanings, humor and second readings.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the work “CARTE D’OR”, created by artist Carlos Aires. This art installation consists of a high-definition illustration of a 100 Congolese franc banknote, measuring 14 feet by 11 feet. The work is a faithful reproduction of a currency that, like many other objects in the exhibition, invites reflection on value, politics and history, thematizing power through the everyday. The piece, which joins a series of previous collaborations between Kriskadecor and Carlos Aires, leads the viewer to question the symbols and representations that surround us in our globalized and changing society.

An artistic reflection on contemporary uncertainty

As a whole, “Come What May” does not seek to provide definitive answers to the questions posed by the present and future chaos, but rather invites an open and free approach. Visitors are called upon to reflect on the paths that humanity might follow, while confronting the unknowns of a world in constant transformation. Through a varied selection of paintings, sculptures, videos, drawings, photographs and installations, the exhibition opens a space to dream, to question, and to rethink the course of things.

Aeroplastics Gallery, founded in 1998 and located in Brussels, remains one of the most atypical and daring centers of contemporary art in Belgium. With a multidisciplinary approach that accommodates both established artists and emerging promises, Aeroplastics continues to challenge the conventions of art, proposing a critical and open look at the most pressing issues of our society.
