To mark its centennial, Kriskadecor-Sans Amill has launched “100 Years of Inspiring Emotions,” a pop-up exhibition that transforms various iconic spaces in Montblanc through projects created by design and architecture schools.
“Chain link by chain link”, located in the courtyard of the Consell Comarcal, is one of the installations that form part of this urban exhibition. Developed by students from Escola d’Art i Disseny de Reus (EADR), the project was supervised by Albert Pàmies Thomas.
Chain link by chain link
The story of Sans Amill can be told through a seemingly simple element: the chain link. A small component that, when joined with many others, has accompanied the company’s evolution over the past 100 years.
From the first chain curtains, created in 1926 as a practical solution that allowed air to circulate while keeping insects out, to today’s applications in architecture and interior design, the chain has evolved alongside the company itself.
This installation traces that journey through the chain link, using it as a thread connecting past and present. The blue tones that define the piece evoke the Mediterranean and the company’s first steps beyond Montblanc, as its chains began to reach new markets.
Walking through the chains becomes a journey through 100 years of history: from the origins of Sans Amill to the evolution of Kriskadecor into a creative tool for architects and designers around the world.
