Aluminum, a highly sustainable material

Aluminum, our main raw material, is a lightweight, strong and long-lasting material. It is also harmless, does not burn or give off toxic gases, and is highly resistant to corrosion. In addition, it is a great light reflector and is capable of adopting infinite shapes that respond to all kinds of design applications.

It was discovered at the end of the 19th century and comes from bauxite, the third most abundant element in the earth’s crust. However, despite its high availability, it is a 100% recyclable material, which makes it possible to obtain other products without compromising the resources of future generations and without generating any type of waste.

One of the greatest advantages of aluminum is that it can be infinitely recycled without losing its original quality, consuming only 5% of the energy that was used to extract the raw material for the first time. In fact, it is estimated that more than 75% of the aluminum manufactured and transformed in the last 100 years is still in use today.

For these reasons, it is a highly sustainable material that favors the circular economy, i.e. “a production and consumption model that involves sharing, renting, reusing, repairing, renewing and recycling existing materials and products as many times as possible to create added value. In this way, the life cycle of products is extended over time.” (Source: European Parliament).

Kriskadecor’s aluminum chains

Our aluminum chains are made from 99.99% aluminum, including 20% recycled material, which helps us reduce our carbon footprint.

Likewise, the quality and reliability of the projects developed is due to our extensive experience working with aluminum, together with the fact that each design solution is manufactured from start to finish in our facilities: from the manufacture of the links from aluminum wire from Irurzun (Navarra), to the structures that are installed in each project.

In addition, our anodizing and coloring treatment provides stability and hardness. This internal process allows us to obtain a wide range of our own and customized colors with glossy and satin finishes.

Infinitely recyclable

The Spanish Aluminum and Surface Treatments Association (AEA) has launched the infinitamentereciclable.com campaign, where they invite you to rediscover a resistant, durable and infinitely recyclable material.

At Kriskadecor we are committed to sustainability.
