Kriskadecor, in collaboration with Marina Port Vell Barcelona, has created Barlovento, an immersive experience inspired by the sea and made of aluminum chains. This installation offers an elegant and warm welcome to residents and visitors during the celebration of this nautical event. The initiative stands out for its creativity and kinetic movement, but also for its elegance and commitment to innovation, design and art.
The project, designed by Kriskadecor’s creative team, is an installation where innovation and design are fundamental. It has been developed with 196,980 links, forming wavy curtains with a subtle gradient of colors that represent the white wakes left by ships during their navigation. In addition, silver triangular shapes have been incorporated to symbolize the sails of the ships between the waves during regattas. As a nod to the past, an enthusiastic “HOLA” has been woven into the curtains, recalling the greeting with which Barcelona welcomed the world at the 1992 Olympic Games.
Aluminum elements designed to withstand the environment, offering an iconic entrance and a dynamic view thanks to their movement and the play of colors that change with the light of day, creating a visual spectacle that will impress residents and visitors alike.
This event promises to be a celebration of sport, technology, innovation and culture, just as Barcelona was more than 30 years ago during the Olympic Games. Thus, the city of Barcelona, known for its avant-garde architecture and vibrant design culture, adds a new attraction to its offer for three months: the Barlovento installation at the entrance of Marina Port Vell.
