100 Years Inspiring Emotions: a temporary exhibition across Montblanc
A unique journey through different locations across the town, with aluminum chains as the common thread connecting heritage, history, education and community.

To mark its centenary, Kriskadecor-Sans Amill has launched “100 Years of Inspiring Emotions,” a temporary exhibition that transforms various iconic spaces in Montblanc through projects created by design and architecture schools.
Discover the installations
Each installation explores a different relationship between aluminum chains and Montblanc’s heritage, history and public spaces. Developed in collaboration with LCI Barcelona, Elisava, ESDAPC Ondara Campus and the Escola d’Art i Disseny de Reus (EADR), the projects bring together different approaches to design and architecture, transforming familiar locations across the town through new forms, colors and perspectives.
The exhibition also includes works inspired by drawings created by pupils from Escola Les Muralles and Escola Mare de Déu de la Serra, bringing the imagination of Montblanc’s youngest generation into the project.
Acknowledgments
Kriskadecor-Sans Amill would like to thank the Montblanc City Council, the Montblanc Tourist Office, and the Conca de Barberà Regional Council for their support and involvement in organizing this exhibition.
100 years of a story built one chain link at a time
Some stories begin in the most unexpected ways.
Ours began in 1926, when our founder, Josep Maria Sans Amill, was studying in Barcelona. He bet his classmates that he could build a machine capable of joining chain links automatically. Shortly afterwards, the owner of a bakery in his hometown of Montblanc told him about the difficulty of keeping the shop door open during the summer without letting flies in.
From the meeting of those two circumstances came the first metal chain curtains: a simple solution that allowed fresh air to circulate while keeping insects out. Without realizing it, that was the first link in a story that, one hundred years later, is still being written.
